Reminder: Multi-Factor Authentication is becoming mandatory in LEAP

Details

MFA (multi-factor authentication) is becoming mandatory across all LEAP firms.

If your firm uses Xero alongside LEAP, you need to have MFA enabled by 12 June 2026.

All other firms will receive their date as part of a phased rollout later this year.

MFA has been available in LEAP for some time. Making it standard for every firm is the natural next step, and reflects what is already best practice across the sector.

The Law Society of Ireland is clear on this: client data, court documents, and communication platforms must always be protected with MFA. The NCSC Ireland recommends the same.

Setting up MFA takes just a few minutes per user.

You can use the LEAP Authenticator (built into the LEAP Mobile app), or connect with Microsoft or Google Authenticator if your firm already uses one.
