What’s New in LEAP: Smarter Automation, Better Previewing, and Seamless IT Control
We are excited to share a fresh batch of updates designed to speed up your daily workflows, simplify document handling, and make firm-wide management easier than ever. Here is a look at what’s will be available in LEAP Desktop 2.6, due to land in the coming days. Streamlined Document & Workspace Tools
Say goodbye to window clutter. You can now preview correspondence documents in a side pane directly inside your matter window, making it effortless to scan files without opening extra windows. On the automation side, building smart documents is simpler than ever:
- Basic Mode Calculation Builder: Create dynamic "if/then/else" document logic—no coding or JavaScript required.
- AI Prompts for Precedents: Select and run linked AI prompts automatically when opening precedents.
- Clutter-Free Workspaces: Collapse the tutorial pane in the Conditional Fields window for a larger workspace, and copy card documents directly to the Document Register without assigning a matter first.
Upgraded AutoTime for Microsoft Word (not available in LEAP Enterprise)
Keeping track of billable hours while drafting should be effortless. The AutoTime ribbon in Word now features a Pause/Resume timer that automatically picks back up when activity is detected. Need to make adjustments? Built-in Reset and Revert buttons let you discard time edits instantly. You can also reassign fee earners directly from the sidebar and toggle comments as billable or non-billable with a single click.
Smarter Contact Search & Sync
Managing contact data just got much more precise. Advanced Card Search now supports specific identifiers like Date of Birth, Previous Name, Driver’s License, Passport Number, and National Insurance Number (UK only). Plus, updating a contact's email now automatically syncs with their associated card, full address details display in suggested results, and new alerts prevent duplicate card shortcuts.
Simplified Sign-In & Enterprise IT Support
Logging in is smoother with optional Microsoft account credentials integration. For IT administrators, LEAP now officially supports enterprise-wide deployment via Microsoft Intune. System admins can now silently package, deploy, and update LEAP across managed Windows devices with ease. (Note: Intune updates execute system-level changes, so we recommend referring to the LEAP HelpCentre documentation for setup details).
