Application Settings - Branch Offices

How To
 
  • You can assign matters to a specific nominal reporting group if your firm operates multiple offices.
  • Set up branch offices to see how different areas of your business are performing.
  • Review and filter reports by branch offices to monitor the performance of different areas of your business.

Desktop: Click the LEAP Menu > Settings > Application Settings.

The LEAP Application Settings will open in a new window.

 

Web: Click User-added image > Settings > Application Settings.

The LEAP Application Settings will open in a new window.

Set up Your Branch Offices in Your Accounting Software

 

First, set up your branch offices in your accounting software.

QuickBooks

If you are using QuickBooks, set up and use location tracking: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/learn-support/en-uk/help-article/track-location/set-use-location-tracking/L2raFkEBC_GB_en_GB

Xero

To set up a branch office you will need to set up tracking categories: https://central.xero.com/s/article/Set-up-tracking-categories

Create a Nominal Reporting Group for Each Branch Office in LEAP

 

  1. Click Accounting > under Nominal Ledger > Nominal Reporting Groups.

  2. Click New Nominal Reporting Group to add your branch office as a reporting group.

  3. Enter the reporting group Name and the Full Name of the branch office.

    This should match what you've entered in your accounting software.

  4. Enter the Tracking Category \ Option. e.g. Location\Dublin

  5. Click Save.

  6. Repeat these steps for each of your branch offices.

Complete the Details for Each Branch

 

  1. Click Firm > Branches.

  2. Click New Branch to add your new branch office.

  3. Enter the Branch Name and Display Name.

  4. Tick the Main Branch checkbox, if necessary.

  5. Select the appropriate Nominal Ledger Reporting Group.

  6. Click Save.

  7. Repeat these steps to add the details of other branch offices.

Allocate Matters to a Nominal Reporting Group

 

  1. Open the matter.

  2. Make sure you're on the Details & Correspondence tab.

  3. Click Matter Details.

    The Matter Details will open in a new window.

  4. Click the Accounting tab.

  5. Select the relevant Nominal Reporting Group from the drop-down.

  6. Click OK.
